I do solemnly swear.....
It has been AGES since I've written!.....well, not ages......but a LONG time!! Today, I watched Barack Obama's inauguration. At 12:05 (east coast time.....9:05 here), Barack Obama became America's first African American president. The newscasters were saying that just 60 years ago, a black person wasn't aloud to be in the same part of a restaurant as white people, drink from the same drinking fountain as white people, or even use the same toilets! I think it is amazing that 60 years later, a black man became president! I do envy his daughters though....I would LOVE to live in the White House!!! I read somewhere that they have their own movie theatre, own popcorn tray, and many more things! Wouldn't that be cool to have a birthday party at the White House? Imagine playing "Hide and Seek"!! But, then again, I wouldn't want my dad to be the president because he would be away and working a lot, and secret service people would follow me everywhere!!! I wouldn't want them to follow me if I went to a sleepover either!! And then, after my dad finished being president, secret service men (or women) would follow me until I died!! Well, I am glad though that I was watching the inauguration on t.v. instead of being there!! It would be SO cold!! And so many people!!!! Nathan thought watching the inauguration was boring, but I liked it. It was really the first one that I actually watched. In 2001, I was only 5 years old, and five year olds don't watch inaugurations!! I don't know what else to say, so...goodbye!!!!

Please get cold!

For me, it is still very weird that it can get to 80 degrees in the winter! I was wearing capris and a short sleeve shirt yesterday. It should be cold!! But then again....cold for California....which is like 5o degrees max...I remember when I lived in Colorado, waking up and it would be snowing! Nathan and I would run to my parents room shouting "It's snowing! It's snowing!" Then we would get all of our snow stuff on and play outside making snow angels, snow balls (though they didn't stick very well together) and the occasional fort. Once we even made a chair! We would get hot and take our coats off and play with out it. The snow got onto our trampoline and my parents had to shovel it off, because it would weigh the trampoline down. They eventually flipped the trampoline over, so no harm would be done to it. Then when we got cold, we would go inside and have hot chocolate!
My best friend lives near a creek, and in the winter, it freezes over, and we got to skate with our shoes on! But there were thin spots that we didn't skate on. When I was there, Hannah's neighbor brought her friend to skate on the creek too, and we told her where the thin spots were, and I don't know if she accidentally went over there, or what, but she fell in, and the water was icy cold. She left and got warm right away!
One time, it snowed three feet! Almost as tall as me, at the time. We played all day in the snow! My best friend was out of town in guess where? Florida! She was so jealous that it had to snow three feet tere when she was on vacation!
Since the snow was really dry in Colorado, only once in the 4 years we lived there were we able to make snow men. We made a snow family: Snow dad, snow mom, snow brother and snow sister. It was very fun!
I guess I just have to deal with it when it doesn't get that cold here. Though one good thing about living here is that I don't come in from being outside soaking wet!

Happy New Year...though a little late!
I realized that I have not written a post since the new year, and thought I might as well do it now. I will start off by saying, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I hope I will have a great year, this year, considering there are SO many things to look forward to!! I am starting this Thursday to help in childcare at my church and I am getting payed $7.50 and hour for an hour and a half once a week! Then, my best friend and her family are coming to visit my family in April, and I am VERY excited!! I have not seen her since end of June '07!! I can't wait!! Then, in June ('09), my dad's side of the family is having a family reunion in Clamath Falls, Oregon in June. Then my family is heading up to Portland and Spokane to visit other family!! Busy year!! School is going well, though it was hard to come back to school, when I have had two weeks off!! Since my dad is in the Philippines right now, my mom was asked if the three of us (Mom, Nathan, and I) would like to spend part of a day or all day at her beach house with her. We went and had a great time!! We went to a diner, went in her hot tub, walked on the beach, and enjoyed the scenery. We did do SOME school though. We did history on the way up, and some for tomorrow on the way back. The lady who owns the beach house also told us some interesting things about the beach, so my mom can count that as a science lesson!! Well, I should be going. Hope you have a GREAT year!!!
